Support students in mastering their facts by using a balanced approach to fluency with a focus on strategies and developing student executive functioning skills. Participants will work through a variety of hands on activities to experience the connection between strategies, which lead to automaticity.

- Expand understanding of procedural fluency to include carrying out procedures flexibly, accurately, and appropriately.
- Understand the role of representation and use of strategies and procedural fluency.
- Broaden the definition of mathematical tools to include anything that students use to think about mathematics.
- Understand the role of mathematical conversations, number talks, and the Standards for Mathematical Practice in developing mental math and computation strategies.
