Collective Teacher Efficacy- Anytime and Anywhere

Updated: Aug 16, 2023

Developing a professional network has been identified as an effective strategy for increasing efficacy in education. Professional networks allow educators to collaborate with peers, share best practices, and gain new insights into teaching practices. When educators connect with other professionals, they can access resources, gain new perspectives, and expand their knowledge base, ultimately leading to improved student learning outcomes.

Research has consistently demonstrated the positive impact of collective efficacy on student learning outcomes. Hattie (2015) reported that collective teacher efficacy had an effect size of 1.57, one of the highest effect sizes in education. This finding suggests that educators can significantly impact student achievement when they believe in their collective efficacy and work together.

By building a professional network, educators can share their expertise and learn from others, increasing their efficacy. Educators can enhance their skills and improve their teaching practices by collaborating on projects, sharing best practices, and engaging in professional development opportunities. As a result, students are more likely to experience improved learning outcomes. In conclusion, building a professional network is an effective strategy for enhancing educator efficacy and positively impacting student learning outcomes.
